Gartner issued their first Magic Quadrant for Group Video Systems today and Vidyo was one of only 3 companies selected for the critically important Leaders Quadrant, along with Cisco and Polycom.
Being anywhere in a Gartner MQ is important, but being a Leader can automatically put Vidyo on short lists for select RFPs. This is tremendous acknowledgment of both our vision and our ability to execute and everyone should be extremely proud of this accomplishment, especially our development team.
The subhead of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Group Video Systems report reads:
“The introduction of innovative new form factors, software infrastructure and cloud services is reshaping enterprise video collaboration. The following vendors offer potential for greater reach, scale and interoperability while addressing the most critical video use cases.”
Gartner then recognizes that:
“Vidyo has been a disruptive force in enterprise video conferencing with its software-based approach that limits the need for transcoding and associated infrastructure and has transformed how, where and when users consume video conferencing. Gartner recommends that enterprises of all sizes should consider Vidyo, especially those focused on high scale and personal video solutions.”
According to Gartner, enterprises that have deployed Vidyo’s solution report significantly higher utilizations (20 percent) as compared with utilization of legacy environments (5-10 percent). Gartner clients have been more willing to consider Vidyo to augment existing infrastructure deployments and introduce greater scale for personal and off-net video calling. Gartner also acknowledges that Vidyo’s simplified pricing structure and concurrent licensing model budgets for new video implementations.
Gartner also notes that:
“Vidyo removes a common cost constraint for scaling enterprise video and allows upgrades like new codecs without shipping new hardware, does not require transcoding in its core solution and has the ability to gateway calls to other standards-based environments without requiring clients to deploy local infrastructure.”
